First week of Us

The first week of marriage was bliss. No we did not leave for our honeymoon the day after our wedding not even the week after. We decided to stay here for two weeks and get things into order and just enjoy life together. We are so so glad we did! This week consisted of brunch, drive in movies, dinner with friends, cooking for our mamas, 4th of July with friends and even a Bob Dylan concert. It was the best week of my life so far. Marriage is the best. I highly recommend it!

Mrs Holcomb

So it happened.. We are MARRIED!

The day could not have been anymore perfect. The Lord blessed us far beyond measure. The weather was out of control amazing. Praise the Lord for a somewhat cool/ not blazing hot day AND no rain! Every single concept I had in mind came to life better than I ever could have imagined. Thank you to all of my amazing friends for crafting and setting up with me. I cant wait to see and show you the incredible pictures that Laura Zumwalt from Lovely Union took. How amazing is it that while looking for a wedding photographer Z and I found two amazing best friends in Laura and Casey. If you have an event/ wedding coming up or just want pictures taken check them out. You wont find anyone better or more fun to work with. Over the next few months Ill be sharing with you different concepts from the big day and how they came to life.

Thank you everyone who came to our wedding. We love each and every one of you more than we can say. We hope you had so much fun and got to enjoy all of the yummy treats!

A few places you should drop by for more pictures and details: My dear sweet Whitney blogged about the day over at That's Influence. And my BFF/bridesmaid Katie blogged about the day over here at Kate and Kuby. Love you ladies!!

Sunday Zachary and I are FINALLY headed to the beach for our honeymoon!! Wahooo. 5 days and counting!

My Bachelorette Partay

Thanks to some of my nearest and dearest ladies I had an amazing bachelorette party! First stop Mollie Fontaine's. Couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to go. If you haven't been GO! If you are looking for a fun girls night out.. go! It is super cute and the food/drinks are divine. Next the group grew smaller as we headed downtown for a little hanging out and later dancing. Perfect night with my gal pals! Thank you ladies for my most favorite girls night ever.

Aren't they beautiful?! Thank you ladies again for such a fun night! Love you all dearly!

everybody dance now

So today marks fifteen.. did you get that?... 15 days until I am Zachary's bride!!!! Eeeekkkkkk. :) Today I went by hutch and filled out my emergency contact form with my new information and I had to do it twice because I kept putting Allyse Anderson. (I'm going to have to work on the whole new name thing.) Luckily I am taking Anderson as my middle name so I didn't mess that up too badly. I also was able to put my status as MARRIED and husband next to Z's name! Eeek ekkkkkk eeeeeekkkkk!

So, in honor of all of the excitement of 15 days until marriage I would like to take a moment to dance.

happy friday everyone!

My Wedding Dress

My wedding dress.
I cant explain how much I adore it, how beautiful it is, and how perfect it is for me.
I cant wait to see the look on my mama and daddy's faces when they see me in it for the first time.
I cant wait to see my Zachary look at me in my dress for the first time.
Typing this now I already have tears in my eyes because I am so full of joy and excitement.
Thank you Lord for blessing me in so many ways. Thank you Jesus for Zachary.

The time I saw a Beatle

May 25 was a great day for many reasons.. 1 our dear friends Katelyn and Chase got married!! Two the Grizz played their first home game against the Spurs in the western conference finals.. sadly we lost. BUT still a very big moment for Memphis basketball. AND Three.. my sweet friend Andrea invited Zachary and I to go see Sir Paul McCartney in concert at the FedEx Forum.
May 26 was a great day. Zachary, Andrea, Amy and I go to see Sir Paul McCartney live in concert. Our seats were in a lower level suite. This was Zack's first time to sit in a box and I would say it was QUITE an experience.

PAUL WAS AMAZING. He played 40 songs for 3 straight hours without stopping. The man is in his 70's and can still rock and roll like a champ and is still the definition of cool. Such an incredible experience that we will never forget.

Thank you Andrea for inviting us to this awesome night. I had a blast dancing the night away with you two.

Revision Church Shower

Zachary and I attend Revision Church in Olive Branch.. go check it out. Our Revision church family has truly become our dearest friends and our family. We meet in Olive Branch high school at 10:00 every Sunday. Please join us. Well these fabulous people who we love so dearly threw us a shower one Sunday night after community groups. Z and I were over joyed by all of the love and support these people have shown us. At the shower many sweet ladies prepared yummy yummy desserts and coffee punch (amen). If you haven't tried coffee punch then you haven't lived. Two thing we learned at this shower.. gift cards are the bomb and never underestimate how excited you can get over towels.

Thank you everyone! We love and appreciate each and every one of you!

Believe Memphis

Hello out there. Long time no see. I have been busy busy busy the past few weeks and it has been a lot of fun! Ill be catching you up on some of those things soon but for now I thought I would share with you a bit of excitement that has come about in the future Holcomb's world. Three words... The Memphis Grizzlies.

Z and I love our grizz. We have been big fans for years but this year it was taken to a new level. Two of our great friends, The Zumwalts, are season ticket holders and when they would go out of town they would be so amazing and would let us sit in their seats. Many many other times Z and I would buy tickets off of stub hub and went to many games that way as well. When I started thinking about what I was going to give to my love on our wedding day I thought of many things but the best thought was grizz tickets.

When you think about buying grizz tickets you can buy individual tickets, game packages, or season tickets. I wasn't sure which I was going to do. I knew I would either buy a game package or season tickets. That decision was made for me when Z and I found ourselves without tickets to round 1 game 6 against the LA Clippers. The cheapest tickets I could find were a whopping $200 for waayyyyyyyyy up there. SO my sweet Zachary in a joking way said if we wanted to go ahead and buy season tickets we would have playoff priority. I did not know this. Z did NOT know of my wedding gift plan. I called the season ticket office and this was true. I put 20% down and BOOM Z and I had 2 tickets to the next 5 games for the playoffs and money down for next year. Now that may not make a ton of sense so I will break it down for you. Instead of paying $200 on ONE game I paid way less than that for 5 playoff games and the 20% toward our season ticket package. GREAT GREAT GREAT deal!! Season tickets are TOTALLY doable on even a small budget. If you have more questions feel free to ask me, visit the website here or call and find out.

SOOO.... The HOLCOMBS will have one GRIZZ of a first year of marriage. And yall... Game 6 against the Clippers was 1000% worth all of this... the two home games for OKC made me lose my mind. So so so fun!!! The loss yesterday not so fun but we will rise! BELIEVE MEMPHIS!

Here are a few moments over the past few games.

Round 1 Game 6 LA Clippers

This game was also our two months till the wedding celebration.

Round 2 Game 3 OKC

 Round 2 Game 4 OKC

If you cant tell Zachary is very very please with his wedding gift and so am I. :)

My dearest Zachary, I love you more than words can say. I cannot wait to be your bride. 40 more days and  you will be stuck with me forever. I love you always.
sincerely, your allyse

wedding invitations

Who knew invitations for a wedding took this long?... I did duhh not me. Addressing invitations, finding addresses, putting together invitations in a cute way, there is a lot. So thankful for all of the INCREDIBLE people in my life who are and have been helping me. Every little bit helps a girl out.

Some of the ways our friends have shown us love:: Helping us find a local print shop, knowing where to order paper and envelops, addressing invitations, assembling invitations and rsvp cards, tying twine, and many many others

Here is one bit of advice I was given from a few brides and I am giving you now, when someone offers to help you with something, let them. I have always felt like I was a burden on others when I asked for help but people do love you and want to help. Thank you again to all of those people to Z and me.

I cant wait for all of you to see the finished project. They make me so so so happy!

big big changes

Soo... remember that mysterious post a few weeks back? Well.... I can officially say that I am going to be a full time lead teacher in Jr. Kindergarten at Hutchison starting in the fall!! I can not tell you how excited and honored I am for this opportunity. Can't wait to meet my sweet class!!

In other news, today Zachary and I signed a lease on our first house! We will be living in midtown and we are thrilled. Z is moving in this weekend!  Did I mention two of our most favorite people in the whole world, the Zumwalts will be right up the street?! I cant wait to fill this sweet little house with all of our things and make it our very own. Here is a picture of our new place. :)

We can not explain how blessed we feel that all of these wonderful things are happening exactly when they needed to. Isn't our God so so good! He is the perfect provider. All glory and honor to Him! I hope you all have a great weekend. Happy Friday!

xoxo Allyse

Our First Shower

My oh my are showers fun!! The gifts are amazing but its being surrounded by some of the people you love most in the world that makes it so so special. Our first shower was thrown by Karin and Lenny Jones. When I was 17 I started nannying Karin's 3 precious girls (you would know them as my Siano girls). This family has been so welcoming, supportive, and  loving for the past 7 years. I truly consider them family. After Z and I became engaged they approached us about throwing us a couples shower and of course we were pumped! When I say it was one of my most favorite days ever I mean it. We had a ball!

The wonderful hosts! The food was incredible!! Yum yum yumm..

Mary Beth is my youngest Siano girl. She made the best little hostess. We love you MB!

 The Holcombs!

Of course we made time to watch the grizz game. Once we realized where the men had gone we all piled on the couches and cheered them on. It was a great grizz win!

 Four of my beautiful bridesmaids!
Left to right: Jimy, Anna, Caryn, and Elinor
We missed you Kate, Jules, and Liv.

Thank you everyone who was able to come celebrate with us and a special thank you to Karin and Lenny for taking such great care of us. Having our first shower not only made things more real but made us even more excited about our wedding day!!!! Only 64 days to go!!
xoxo Allyse
